3D Realisation - What is it?
Monster # 1- This is what my first 3D shape is called – well what QC named it anyway.

My 3D shape- simply just card slotted into each other- no planning, no intention but yet so relevant |
As discussed in previous post- the following project I had to accomplish was to create a 3D shape of any sort… my inspiration? Obviously comes from the research field trips we’ve been taking over the past few weeks.
When I started making this 3D shape, I wasn’t thinking too much of what the outcome would be, everything was quite natural and quite simple. During these few weeks I have been focusing on repetition, reflection and distortion, Monster #1 was based on these words too, and what sparked it off was the image of the stacked chairs I found in Topshop. I find quite interesting how something carrying such a simple forms can created such a different shape when slotted into one another.
I took the same idea of using slots to create this free standing 3D shape, and by doing slight alteration to each slotting piece, the shape slowly evolved into something that naturally resembles my research images on the wall.
What do you think?
hmmm, perhaps i'm not deep enough, but why did he call it "monster" ?
